[John met Dave at a fashion shoot two years ago. Kanaya had been holding a fashion show and Dave had agreed to be one of the models in it, this is when John was trying to dabble in photography as the person behind the camera. He found he really had no talent for it at all, instead he graduated with a degree photo processing. So Kanaya had kept him on board after they found a new photographer.

That's when John officially met Dave. Dave was a special kind of guy. No college degree, just a knack for what he loved to do. John had seen some of Dave's work through some hipster tumblr blog. The photos had been obviously raw, no processing- but he had to admit Dave has this special ability to take the PERFECT shot. It makes him jealous that he decided to not pursue the career behind the camera.

But as talented as Dave may be, he's also like any other person John works with. He's kind of picky when it comes to how his photos are processed and while John sometimes gets some of the shots processed how Dave wants them. He doesn't always get it right the first time. Which makes Dave complain and become high maintenance which in return causes John to complain about Dave to Rose. Today he decides to bring three different options. The model was Rose, an absolutely beautiful girl who she knew through Kanaya. Who better to model your clothing line than your girlfriend, right?]

Hey, Dave.

[He walks into the studio with three of her prints, all processed differently. It looks like John has been behind the computer for quite some time being as careful as he could to process them the three different ways he knows Dave likes. He never thought of even trying anything new.

When he approaches Dave he holds them out.] I finished three separate prints, and one of them has to go to Kanaya by tomorrow evening. Which one do you like best?

Oh, yeah. I was starving. I really couldn't eat this morning.

[Good now they can get the hell out of here and get Dave to a place he feels comfortable.] You sure you son't mind posing for me after you did all that posing today?

Why would I mind? I mean, might as well end the day with more posing, right?

[Dave heads out.] What exactly am I doing though?

I don't know. Not everyone wants to pose the entire day. You might ge not wanted to pose the entire day.

[John shrugs.] We'll figure it out.

Doesn't matter to me. Just know I don't do this for just anyone, alright?

[He can't really say no to John, he's realized. Fuck does he have it bad.]

I'm swooning as we speak, Dave.

[As they get closer to the studio, John stops off at his car and gets a camera bag out of the trunk. Yes. He does carry his with him. Don't judge him.]

[knightime]

Yeah, yeah.

[Dave unlocks the studio and heads inside, not waiting for John. Whatever. The door is unlocked and John can let himself in.]

[longwinded]

[John gathers his equipment from the car and walks back inside. Immediately heading back to the huge studio- setting his stuff down and pulling soft boxes down.

He knows what he wants to do.

Hell, Dave might even like the outcome of this is he executed it well enough. He really hopes so. He looks up to Dave in the department of photography.]

Alright, unbutton your shirt midway.

[John is taking no prisoners here.]

Wow, someone is being saucy. I'm starting to wonder what these photos are for exactly.

[Teasing aside, Dave gets into place and starts unbuttoning his shirt for the other.

You're the one with the camera.

Still. He's fairly curious what John wants out of this.]

Oh you know, artistic reasons. It would only be super saucy if I asked you to do some sexy pose, which you don't have to do unless you want to.

[....Suggesting mildly maybe.....]

[But Dave takes a seat and spreads his legs as he leans back a little. He's totally giving John a haughty look. Is that saucy enough for you, John?]

Mhmm.

[John starts taking pictures. Compulsively looking at his camera, and then changing angles. John won't show in his face that he may be struggling- he was just never an adequate photographer.

The one photo that makes him even a little nervous to get is the one where he is going to have to hover over Dave. Which is what he is doing now. Sorry Dave- he's all in your business.]

[Dave just looks up at John and the camera, and damn if that ain't a really piercing gaze. Like he's fucking staring right at you John.

Is this really what you wanted to do? Have some photoshoot. Or is there more to it?]

[There is a lot more to it. There is so much more to it. But why would he tell Dave that? He is looking at his camera, seeming pleased with what he has.

But look down, while Dave was still posing like that. Hm. He was a captivating human being. Every lean inch of him.]

You've probably heard this before, but you're gorgeous.

[It didn't matter what angle, Dave was beautiful.]

[Dave raises an eyebrow at the other.]

Not often. If you mean when I actually have to model, then yeah, but you wouldn't guess the photographer in the ratty old sweater is the same guy who posed in a suit for Vogue.

Is there a reason you wanted to do this? [He still thinks John has another reason for this.]

[John doesn't move. But he does put his camera to his side. He doesn't understand why. He doesn't.]

I thought the photographer in the ratty old sweater was pretty damn attractive too.

I dunno, I never got a chance to actually photograph a model by myself. Maybe I wanted to spend more time with you. We eat Taco Bell and get drunk together, but we don't do much outside of that. [Dancing around all of the reasons.]

You're a load of bullshit. If people didn't know my name, they'd think I'm just some unhygienic asshole who somehow made it big.

[He can't actually believe John would find him attractive unless he made an effort to look nice.]

Regardless, to me, you're attractive. Can't help what I'm attracted to Dave. I guess it happens to be blonde guys in frumpy sweaters.

[Man, can't John just stare? And be amazed? Why does he have to answer questions.]

Right, but I just didn't want to be like "Oh hey man are you busy at this second", every single time I want to hang out. What is up? Nothing is up. I just called you attractive and wanted to hang out more is all.

John. The only person I drop all my shit for to hang out is you. Maybe Rose, but there's reasons for that usually. You're the only asshole I spend a shit amount of time for.

[That was really kind of endearing. They never really put a label on their partnership, but to John this sounds like they are basically best friends. John doesn't really know how to come out and say he's been fancying a more than friendship feeling for Dave.

So he just kind of sits in Dave's lap. Right where he was just standing over.]

Wait now, don't leave. Leaving is not what needs to happen. You staying is definitely what needs to happen. Plus I'm kind of preventing you from going anywhere with my fat ass.

What is up? I don't know what is up. A lot of things are up! I'm on your lap, we're having this awkward discussion. I might be jumping the gun on a thought. But not really? We've known each other for quite some time Dave. Maybe I like you or something.

[Dave obviously has to have the backbone in this relationship. Which is funny because he was usually never hesitant about voicing himself. It's just a little different in this situation. He isn't really a people person and admitting to any type of feelings towards anyone was usually uncommon for him.]

You're sitting on me. [He can't actually leave.] Although fat ass isn't what I'd usually think of. You're kind of not fat at all, let's be fuckin' honest.

[Clearly Dave has a lot of the backbone if John just isn't doing what he needs to do. John really just wants to voice his feelings but he is having trouble with that particular thing. So he shifts a little in Dave's lap and sighs.]

Okay I'm gonna be really fucking honest then. Look Dave I've always had kind of a friend crush on you but never really thought it was going to grow into anything else. But hey lookie the fuck here. I'm sitting on your lap confessing my hearts true fucking feelings to you and I'm freaking way the fuck out because I don't know how you're going to react to it, okay?

You're fuckin' dumb. [Dave yanks the front of John's shirt forward, pulling him close enough that he can press his lips against John's.]

You're so damn stupid. Like, Rose has probably been trying to convince you to actually do something about it stupid. [Dave has always been aware of his own feelings. He just has enough history that being the one to initiate it tended to end in less favorable odds for him.] You deal with my shit. You spend time with me more often than not. You're really shit at reading things.

I'm not du-- [Oh. Oh. Those are definitely lips on his lips. Well, this was not exactly what he expected but this is what he wanted.]

Probably. Maybe I just didn't know how to do something about it. [This took a long time of convincing okay. He didn't know how to handle these types of feelings. They were strange.] I've dealt with a lot of shit in my life, yours isn't anywhere near the worst. Plus, spending time with you is like my favorite thing to do. We have a lot of the same interests.

[He laughs.] But I am super shit at reading things. You go me there. [He leans forward. Letting their noses touch.] Sorry for taking so long.

You're a piece of shit, John. [And he says that daily, but there's never malice in his words. There's never a tone that implies he actually thinks that. Just that Dave said mean things. He was a bully and a brat and he closed himself away from most people.]

You're always slow with everything. How am I going to get anywhere when you drag your feet? [He sounds mostly exasperated.] What took you so long, this time?

Did my creepy ass eyes completely enthrall you or something?

[John just laughs, he knows how Dave is. He's known for while. Which is probably why he wants to kick himself in the ass for being so slow with the feelings train.]

I'm not slow with everything, gosh! [He shrugs, nosebumping Dave gently again.]

You enthrall me. It's not just your eyes dude. Having a crush on your best friend is kind of jarring at first. Like. How was I supposed to know you were chill with this?
