[Even when John is off the clock, he is really on the clock. In Rose's mind anyways. His latest mission while he just happens to be around is to go two blocks down to the local floral shop to pick up the flowers for the shop this week. Rose would usually be the one to do it, however; she was already rather busy today. So John takes the short walk down to the floral shop himself.

Once he is actually inside the shop he takes a moment to appreciate the beauty of the plants. Hey- no one is up here anyways. Might as well look at all the pretty roses, lilies, and tulips. He might have actually forgotten his original goal in all of this.]

[Dave pushes his sunglasses up to the top of his head and looks through some pages on a clipboard.]

She usually gets them delivered to her shop. I think she's fucking with you, which means you two must be good friends. [He shrugs lightly.] Let me get that order for you. [He puts the clipboard back on the counter and disappears back again.]

[Rose always fucks with John. What a nice boss she is. Really.]

Well, I started off as just her Barista. But there is a long life story which would take a good half an hour to tell about how she and I actually became good friends after I started making coffee for her shop.

[While Dave is in the back. John is going to be looking at those roses again. They're so gorgeous.]

Not really interested in your life story.

[Dave isn't exactly the friendliest guy. He comes back with a large bundle of daffodils.] I just need you to sign off on the clipboard and you're free to go with these.

[longwinded]

I guess that's good. Because I don't tell that story to just anyone.

[John is actually a pretty private guy. He won't be sharing that story with Dave until Dave has earned his trust. Neatly he signs "John Egbert" and takes the daffodils in his hands.]

These look nice, as always. Thanks man. [He will wave and take his leave. These flowers have a huge flower pot of iced water to go in.]

[Dave glances down at the clipboard.] John Egbert huh.

[Dave just shrugs though and starts cleaning up shop. He has to close up and get dinner for tonight.]

[John went about his business that day, and the next, and the next. He's a pretty good barista so his coffee is top notch and in high demand. He wouldn't ever expect to see that flower shop dude ever again.

Even if his mind sometimes wanders back to him. He wasn't the nicest guy, but he put together a mean bouquet of flowers. Which by the by are still located in the center of the shop. Healthy and alive.]

[John probably here's Rose greet someone as the small bell on the door rings to signal that someone has just entered. It's very rare that Rose openly greets someone unless it's a regular or a friend.]

Surprise me. [You've heard this voice before, John.

Unlike yesterday, Dave was wearing much less than what he wears when he's working cashier. He's got shorts and sneakers on, and a tanktop. He's got a large basket slung over his back.]

[longwinded]

[John takes a look from behind the counter. Dear fucking god. It's him. He also said 'surprise me'. So John must now take a moment to analyze Dave from top to bottom. He looked like a guy who like atleast two shots of espresso. So he gets that machine going, and gets some of their smoothest coffee brewing.]

Coming right up. To go or in house?

[John is mixing things like the wind. Yes yes yes.]

In. I just did some deliveries so I think I can take a bit of a break. [Dave gives John a wink before taking a seat at one of the free tables. He just idly looks through his phone while he waits for his drink.

He doesn't seem bothered by anyone who seems to be staring at him oddly, red eyes just idly skimming through texts and e-mails.]

[longwinded]

Coming right up, sir.

[John blended and mixed the coffee making sure it was the right temperature for the cup. He poured and then stirred until he had a perfectly new concoction from behind his very own coffee bar.]

Alright, here it is. I made it up just for you. [Wink.]

[Dave glanced up at John, and made a quick glance at Rose before looking back at John.] She isn't tricking you into getting more deliveries, is she?

[He takes the cup from John. Christ, you are a tall man, John. Because it's obviously not because he's just short.]

[He does quirk a smile at that.] I offered to go get them from now on. I like the shop.

[Very tall, nearly six feet tall. Man Dave, you are a tiny thing. John decides not to mention it though.]

You can come to the shop without having to pick us Ms. Snooty Mcflighty Broad Butt's orders, you know. [He takes a sip from the cup.]

Thanks for the coffee. I feel like a fucking princess right now.

[longwinded]

[Was that an invitation to come snoop in the back of the store. Where Dave works and watch him. Ms. Mcflight Broad is going to be pinch my ear when she finds out you're not paying for that coffee. Because you aren't.

[He grins at that.] You looked like a high caffeine guy.

I'm not bad off enough to make someone else pay for my coffee. [Because it can't be because John wants to be nice.]

I actually mostly drink juice. Once in awhile isn't so bad though.

[longwinded]

[Haha, too late John already put four bucks in the till and Dave can't tame him.]

You make nice flower arrangements for the shop, and Rose is picky as fuck. You deserve one on me.

[He goes into the fridge behind him.] I also do smoothies, and serve cold juice. What's your favorite?

That's because I know what she likes. [There are reasons as to why, but he's not saying much passed that.]

Shit, slow down cowboy. You're moving too fast for me. Next thing I know, we'll be on a romantic dinner on the pier or something cliche like that. You already got me a coffee. I think I'm good as far as drinks go. Shit.

[John mostly knows what she likes. She's just...picky.]

Sorry! [Holy shit is John blushing no way. Nope he is totally not blushing right now. Though he still checks if he has juices in the freezer, and he does. Yes good. Cafe secret: John can make mixed drinks after hours.]

Though a dinner by the pier does sound appealing, I will stick to watching you work for awhile. I've never visited your shop until the other day.

[Dave breaks into a short chuckle.]

Aren't you on the clock right now? I don't think Rose wants you flirting with a customer while you're working. It's also bad taste to involve work with pleasure in this situation.

Most people don't need to visit a flower shop usually. I just happen to have good enough business to keep afloat.

[John shrugs.]

Can't help it if the customer is worth flirting with, now can I? I do a lot of things that would be considered bad taste.

[Because Dave is a fucking amazing arranger? He's cute too.]

She must really like you if you haven't gotten fired yet. Shit.

[Sheesh. Can't give a guy breathing time can you. It's a good thing that Dave isn't the type to just completely turn into putty in someone's hands.]

[He takes a sip out of his cup.] I think I got to head out though. I need to process more orders today. As much as I love being hit on, I kind of got to ollie outtie. Gotta work if I want to eat. All that jazz.

[Yes good, drink your coffee it's boosting John's ego.] Alright, I'll see you around then.

[Wouldn't it be unfortunate for Rose to see John with googly eyes right now.]

[Rose probably saw the entire exchange, honestly.

But Dave winks at John before setting his shades back over his eyes and leaving with his coffee.]
