[John met Dave at a fashion shoot two years ago. Kanaya had been holding a fashion show and Dave had agreed to be one of the models in it, this is when John was trying to dabble in photography as the person behind the camera. He found he really had no talent for it at all, instead he graduated with a degree photo processing. So Kanaya had kept him on board after they found a new photographer.

That's when John officially met Dave. Dave was a special kind of guy. No college degree, just a knack for what he loved to do. John had seen some of Dave's work through some hipster tumblr blog. The photos had been obviously raw, no processing- but he had to admit Dave has this special ability to take the PERFECT shot. It makes him jealous that he decided to not pursue the career behind the camera.

But as talented as Dave may be, he's also like any other person John works with. He's kind of picky when it comes to how his photos are processed and while John sometimes gets some of the shots processed how Dave wants them. He doesn't always get it right the first time. Which makes Dave complain and become high maintenance which in return causes John to complain about Dave to Rose. Today he decides to bring three different options. The model was Rose, an absolutely beautiful girl who she knew through Kanaya. Who better to model your clothing line than your girlfriend, right?]

Hey, Dave.

[He walks into the studio with three of her prints, all processed differently. It looks like John has been behind the computer for quite some time being as careful as he could to process them the three different ways he knows Dave likes. He never thought of even trying anything new.

When he approaches Dave he holds them out.] I finished three separate prints, and one of them has to go to Kanaya by tomorrow evening. Which one do you like best?

[He can see the uncertainty already. John is really unsure of what to say past "well yeah I know". He nods slowly.

Shit happens, Dave. Shit just happened.]

I kinda wonder why you were lying this entire time about your eyes, but that's it Dave. I don't think of you indifferently, er, if that's what you are thinking of.

[John was more confused about the lie than he was the eye color. Score one for priorities.]

Let's get food.

[Dave doesn't bother to quell John's curiosity. If John wants to know why he wears contacts, then he'd show him why. He casually packs up his stuff and gets up.] Come on. There's like a McDonald's just a street away. I'm starving.

[He doesn't really wait and starts heading out. Better hurry up, John. He's gonna leave you behind otherwise.]

[longwinded]

Sounds good.

[John won't get left behind, and they could discuss that curiosity at a later date. He couldn't force the other to talk about this, and it was a miracle that Dave even invited him along.]

I locked up the studio already, so no worries there.

[knightime]

Whatever.

[John can probably watch just how people perceive Dave.

For the most part, some people seem too busy with their own lives to really notice them, but there's an obvious mixed reaction. Some people whispering as Dave walks by. If you strain to hear, they're whispering about whether they're really good contacts or not. But the more extreme reaction are actual looks of disgusts.

Dave, however, seemed unmoved and just makes his way to McDonald's.]

[At first John is walking behind Dave. He can see perfectly how people perceive Dave, and he can hear the comments. He wonders why Dave doesn't say anything. He doesn't even flinch.

He gets in stride with Dave to watch Dave. He really is unmoved.]

You really just let them talk like that?

[Mm, John doesn't agree with it.]

[knightime]

[Dave shrugs in response. What was John expecting him? To tell people to knock it off? That would make this trip longer than it has to be and what was he supposed to really do? Change their opinion somehow?]

I can't change how people perceive how I look. You're asking for a miracle, John.

I've dealt with this since forever.

[longwinded]

[John has just never witnessed people actually being a dick indirectly to Dave. Dave was the guy in the studio that everyone feared. He wasn't used to seeing this.

John's opinion would never change about Dave.]

But you can't help how you look. That would be like you making fun of some chick on the street for having a big nose, or making fun of me for wearing glasses.

[knightime]

[Dave just heads into the McDonald's and the reaction is probably even worst now that they're inside a building with a more condensed amount of people.]

That's why I wear contacts.

[longwinded]

I don't think you should, but that is your decision, not mine.

[There was a worse reaction. Mothers holding their children, he was pretty sure there was another guy just making an awfully disgusted face. What the fuck basically.

John was not a fan of this reaction, nor people making any sort of rude comments towards Dave.]

[knightime]

[Dave just orders and it's so obvious that the cashier was kind of staring. He turns to look at John.]

It's deal with people constantly giving me flack or get through the day like a breeze. I've made my choice. You get used to putting them on when it comes routine anyways. [He had to make it routine first, though.]

[longwinded]

[John understands that choice, he turns to order from the next cashier over and it was obvious that she was also glancing over at Dave's eyes too.]

I can see why and I don't blame you. [He pays for his.]

Just as long as I get to occasionally see the red?

[If Dave couldn't tell. John was enthused, and entranced. Rather than disgusted.]

[knightime]

[Dave raises an eyebrow. He's giving John such a look.]

Do I want to know why?

They're just eyes. [And he usually wears sunglasses, John.] Take a picture. It'll last longer.

[longwinded]

[Please Dave. Please keep giving him that look. He is going to fancy the idea of a picture though.]

Mind coming back to the studio then?

[knightime]

Well. No?

[That wasn't really the question he was expecting. Ok.] I want to eat first.

[longwinded]

We'll eat first.

[He hasn't used his own camera in so long and he wants Dave to pose, just for him. With no one else there.]

[knightime]

[Whatever. Dave is just gonna get his food and eat. It's obvious how different Dave's body language reads this exposed. He still holds himself up high, but it seems like he's also closing himself off from everyone to keep himself safe. He keeps his eyes on his food and refuses to make eye contact with anyone else.]

[longwinded]

[John notices this, and it is in this moment he decides to eat his chicken nuggets as quickly (and unsloppily) as he can. Because getting Dave back to the studio would be their best bet right now.]

We can go as soon as you're ready.

[knightime]

Someone had an appetite.

[Dave just gets up to put his trash in the garbage.] Alright, man. Whatever you want.

[longwinded]

Oh, yeah. I was starving. I really couldn't eat this morning.

[Good now they can get the hell out of here and get Dave to a place he feels comfortable.] You sure you son't mind posing for me after you did all that posing today?

[knightime]

Why would I mind? I mean, might as well end the day with more posing, right?

[Dave heads out.] What exactly am I doing though?

[longwinded]

I don't know. Not everyone wants to pose the entire day. You might ge not wanted to pose the entire day.

[John shrugs.] We'll figure it out.

[knightime]

Doesn't matter to me. Just know I don't do this for just anyone, alright?

[He can't really say no to John, he's realized. Fuck does he have it bad.]

[longwinded]

I'm swooning as we speak, Dave.

[As they get closer to the studio, John stops off at his car and gets a camera bag out of the trunk. Yes. He does carry his with him. Don't judge him.]

[knightime]

Yeah, yeah.

[Dave unlocks the studio and heads inside, not waiting for John. Whatever. The door is unlocked and John can let himself in.]

[longwinded]

[John gathers his equipment from the car and walks back inside. Immediately heading back to the huge studio- setting his stuff down and pulling soft boxes down.

He knows what he wants to do.

Hell, Dave might even like the outcome of this is he executed it well enough. He really hopes so. He looks up to Dave in the department of photography.]

Alright, unbutton your shirt midway.

[John is taking no prisoners here.]
