[Your name is John Egbert, and you have recently joined a gym to get back into shape. You determined that if you were ever going to make yourself look decent to anyone you would have to tone your muscles and and lose your cute little baby pudge.

You have taken a wide interest in a couple of areas around the gym, mainly the cardio workouts, the weights, and the pool. There was something about going to take a swim around eight-thirty in the evening. It was usually just you and the highly attractive lifeguard- you think his name is Dave? But you aren't too sure.

On this particular night you had been thinking far too hard, and hadn't put your glasses back on quite yet before you walked back around the edge of the pool. For some reason you think this was a wonderful idea. A fantastic way to end your night. But that isn't seeming to be the case. On your walk back to the edge you trip over a pool noodle, hit your elbow and side on the edge of the pool and fall in.

The world is kind of black. There isn't much you can do.]

[John laughs, and it's unintentional. He just found that really funny.] Then I guess we can be glad that I'm not really creepy then. Just another dude who goes to the gym, that would be me.

[John checks his phone. It's nearly 9 o' clock.] I have to get going. I enjoy your company, honestly. But I have a few things I need to get done around the apartment.

[And John is going to be the lamest dude in the entire world right now. He takes a McDonald's receipt from his pocket, fishes a pen out of his bag and writes down his cell number, promptly handing it to his new maybe friend.] Before you say anything, yes that is on a McDonald's receipt. Yes, that McDouble was fucking delicious.

It's not like the only reason you go here is to watch me sit and people watch all day anyways.

[Dave takes the receipt from him.] Hey, Mickey Dees is the shit. Can't fault you for going there to get food. People who don't like chicken mcnuggets are stupid and don't know what they're missing.

There is no guilt what so ever in eating a ten piece mcnuggets, or a mcdouble.

[John has to resist linger. But he waves his good bye and goes home. Not to return until another day.

but we are letting time pass because we are quality roleplayers.

This point in time, Dave and John have become close. They've hung out together, they text nearly every second they can get a chance, and John still walks Dave out to his car after his shift. Sometimes, like tonight John is going to suggest they go grab something to eat.]

It's Tuesday, you wanna go ever to McDee's or Sonic? Cause I don't think I'm going to be free any other day this week to go out after you get off.

[knightime]

Sonic only has good drinks and I'm fucking starving. Obviously we're gonna get Mickey Dees. Their fries are the shit.

[Dave had been more scarce at the gym as of late. His shifts seem to be cut and he seems to be doing something else on his time. Dave won't talk about it though as much as John asks.]

You aren't going to be around tomorrow? It's my last shift for this week. They really cut back on my hours.

[longwinded]

Right then, are we driving separate? Am I riding with you, are you riding with me? What is going down here? The fries are waiting for us.

[Dave was surprisingly good at not really having to say anything to get John to do something. He nods.] I'll be here tomorrow then. No problem.

Why are they cutting you back? That isn't cool at all.

[knightime]

I'm fine with anything. Whatever is easier on you. I got late shift tomorrow so I'm sleeping in like it ain't nobody's business.

[John. You are such a loser.] Cool.

Eh. It happens. I've had other stuff on my plate so I can't do some available shifts that I used to before.

[longwinded]

I'll drive then. [Which is when he turns on his heel and starts heading towards his own car which is parked exactly four spaces away from Dave's.

He admits he's a loser.] I can add an extra workout day to the week. No harm in that.

Well, I'm sure they'll up your hours again eventually when your availability clears back up!

[Dave follows John, hands shoved in his pockets.]

Yeah. guess they would, except my availability isn't going to clear up anytime soon.

[longwinded]

[He unlocks the car and opens his door. He never really delves into Dave's personal life. But, he guess he can make the exception.]

Is everything alright?

[knightime]

[Dave gets into the passenger side of the car and buckles himself in.]

Yeah. Shit is so fly. I just won't be working my job at the gym as much.

[longwinded]

I'm glad you're still around though. My motivation would be lost if I didn't get to see my best bro.

[John gets in and buckles up. Going ahead and starting the car and letting it warm up for a moment.]

Are you implying that you're trying to impress me? Is that what you're doing?

[He smirks a bit.]

I always try to impress you, Dave. You have caught me completely red handed and I am guilty of trying impress the one and only Dave Strider.

[John smirks right back. They've become best bros; however, John still has a die hard man crush on Dave. Nope. That never changed. John will just wait for Dave to say something before he backs his car out. It might just be important.]

That's flattering, but you don't have to do that. I'm but a simple Texan man.

[He smiles though. It's less a smirk or grin but an actual smile.]

What if there was a reason I'm trying to impress you?

[John is so glad neither of them have anything to do tonight.]

Consider me impressed. I still don't see why you would want to try.

[He's oblivious to your feelings, John.]

[He wants to tell Dave so bad, but for right now he's going to drive and talk. FINALLY BACKING OUT. He hopes maybe the next thing he says could be a hint, or if maybe he's being too vague about this situation.....]

Maybe I'm vying for your affection or something like that.

[knightime]

You're the only guy I hang out with regularly.

[It's impossible for Dave to not catch on, but he didn't like playing guessing games. So he was gonna play dumb still.]

[He doesn't know how to even say this. He is inches away from an actual confession. But he's close to chickening out.]

How would you even feel if I said I was actually vying for your affection. Like. That was a real thing that has been happening.

[Dave doesn't say anything for a moment.]

I don't know. It's never been a thing that's come up.

[You aren't getting an answer out of him with that weak excuse of a vague confession.]

[Well, they have a moment and John is still driving. So he might as well be out with this.]

Dude, I have had such a schoolboy crush on you since about a month after I first started coming to this gym. [There. It came up.]
