 Sorry Texas, John is here to fuck up your day. More like he's using his wind powers to fuck up your day. Either way, to his own amusement he is watching rain pour and  causing winds to blow at somewhat dangerous speeds. It was cool of the rain god to help a drought, but it was no fun if there wasn't a little chaos to follow. He cracks a laugh when a lady completely loses her umbrella, no more nice hair, and hope she had some waterproof mascara. Because it was pouring.

He won't take any notice to anyone else around him, he's having far too much fun giving hell to the place Dave is usually cast out to when he needs a little time out. Which is literally really funny to him, no matter how many times John abuses his powers, they have only cast him out a couple of times. In a state far away from the one Dave is placed. They never really got along completely in the first place, so John messing with something that Dave might hold dear to him is literally no surprise, hell, John isn't even going to be phased if Dave socks him in the face for even being this terrible to those poor mortals.

"You only wonder because you hardly spend enough time with them." Dave growled out. Humans were inherently weak. They could be terrible. Often, they didn't make sense to him. But they were also beautiful things. They're weak yet they're so strong. He was one of the Gods who had completely fallen in love with humans. But no one was surprised considering what he stood for.

He moves to try and slam John against another wall. "You're just a shitty god who likes to play. You don't take anything seriously. If you spent more time, you'd know why!" Weather to them was uncontrollable. It was a factor they couldn't control and it was scary.

"Because I don't need to spend time with them. The only purpose they have ever served me in the past is a good lay." Humans were a fragile specie, and they were also easy to take to bed. Dave was the god of passion, he should fucking know that. John wouldn't quite call them beautiful, he doesn't really know how he feels about humans as a whole. He never takes the time to find out.

Unfortunately Dave catches him, and he's against another wall. "How many times are you going to yell this in my face? How many times do I have to remind you that life on earth can't be perfect?" Dave wants to protect the humans, and John knows that. But to go as low as to call him a shitty god, it only made him want to fuck with the humans more.

"You'd think better of them if you had to rely on them, but a brat like you could never. Given such high position without so much as needing to lift a finger." That pissed him off. Dave worked hard. Dave tried. He wasn't a perfect person by any means. But he didn't laze around just letting things happen. Things would get nowhere had he been like that.

"It can't be perfect, but why should anything down there have to suffer because you're bored?" He swings his arm at John, trying to punch him as hard as he can.

"It isn't my fault that my position was and is needed more than yours." John was chosen for this position and given this body to carry it out. He didn't choose this life, he's pretty sure he would have never chosen this for himself. But it is what it is.

It's when Dave's fist connects with his face that he decides that he's going to unleash all hell on some unsuspecting area. He hasn't caused a natural disaster in some time and his own anger would be what would fuel this one. "Because that is the natural balance. Not everything can be good, or turn out good." He raises a foot, trying to kick Dave away. Stupid asshole. Stupid, human dependent asshole.

"Because you have every right to complain about such a damn easy life you have," Dave spits out. They don't exactly have any reason to complain. "Like you even really do your job anymore. All I see you do is play."

John's kick collides with his side and Dave kind of just falls to the ground. But it's probably not John's kick that actually takes him down. John, you are in so much fucking trouble. And John probably knows that if he hasn't notice the sound of footsteps coming towards them in a rather hurried speed.

"I do my job when I'm asked, fucker." John hits the ground again after Dave falls. He's going to lean against this wall right now as the culprit of the footsteps approaches them. Shit, he is in so much fucking trouble right now if it ends up being Rose or Kanaya. He went against Rose, and he probably got someone hurt down on Earth.

They both look a mess, bruises forming and glasses askew. It doesn't occur to him that in his spouts of anger he probably lost complete control of the wind and it ended up making conditions worse down there.

Rose has her arms folded and she eyes them both for a moment before she moves to help Dave to his feet, letting him basically use her as support from just becoming a crumpled heap on the floor. She turns to John. "Kanaya expects you to meet her in the main hall. She has some punishments lined up for you for breaking what was already agreed dates for any natural disasters of your certain flavor."

She starts dragging Dave off "You best get it over with now and you know making her wait will be worst."

John sighs, and looks somewhat akin to a kicked puppy. But he knows that messing with Kanaya was likely not the best idea. He shoots a dirty look to Dave and scurries his way on down to the main hall. It doesn't surprise him that this came to an end really quickly, when John loses control so far as to cause a natural disaster somewhere he knows he fucked up good.

When he gets there he tries his damnedest to explain what the fuck went down and that he knows what he did was wrong. It was wrong and he shouldn't have done it. But she would proceed to scold him as if he were a young child any how. Saying that John was old enough to stop playing games and messing with people just for the fun of it and ticking Dave off to the point he nearly caused severe damage to the temple and nearly caused a large natural disaster.

He lets the situation sit for a couple of hours and goes to find Dave in the temple. He hesitates before knocking on his room door.

There's no answer. Dave never answered unless summoned. He rarely spoke and usually when he spoke, it was for good reason. He was always weirdly quiet most of the time. Even at meetings. Many times, he wouldn't really be at the meetings and no one seemed to care to summon him if he wasn't there.

The likeliness that he was in his room was pretty high though. Just that he didn't feel like answering. If John wished to enter, he could easily just come in if he wanted to.

He actually wanted to avoid just entering Dave's private space. But, if it needed to be done! It needed to be done. He turns the door handle and slides himself inside the room. For privacy he shuts the door and enters further into the room.

"Dave?" Shit man this was gonna be so awkward. Even if it was a forced apology he did feel kind of bad for losing control and fucking up nearly an entire state with his powers. He was a wind god, he wasn't supposed to lose control like that. "I have something to say to you, and this means I'm gonna talk and you're going to not sock me right in the face." There is already a nice nasty reminder on his cheek from earlier, shit wasn't cool.

Dave's room was interesting. It was filled to the brim with everything you could fathom when it came to the arts. He was currently buried underneath piles of sheet music. He sat up and raised an eyebrow. "I don't want to hear it. If Maryam put you up to this, then considered it done."

He didn't care for an apology that wasn't genuine. If John truly wanted to give him an apology, then he'd accept it. He knew for a fact that were not the case though. "If she asks, I'll tell her you did it."

John sighed. "It was originally going to be forced. But listen. I'm not a complete asshole all the time. I realize that messing with those people was wrong, I also realize us fighting was pretty wrong too." Unfortunately for Dave, John is going to talk anyways. He had to fulfill Kanaya's wishes and he also needed to talk anyhow. John took a step closer, picking up a page of the sheet music Dave was buried under. "It was a situation that should have never happened, even if we are at odds, and I shouldn't have instigated it in the first place."

He set the sheet back down before picking up another. Dave's room truly was interesting. For someone who was the god of passion, his own passion truly shone in his room.

"You've said what you wanted. You can leave whenever you want." Dave didn't really care to forgive and he's sure that John didn't care to be forgiven by him of all people.

Dave was kind of passionate about everything. From music to fine arts to even performance arts. It was all there in some shape or form. These were what made him up and what he lived for after all. "I can't imagine I'm the first person you want to actually strike conversation with, Egbert."

Harsh. John was more than aware that this was going to be a rocky situation. He knew it was probably not going to end like he wanted it to. "Understood." But John doesn't leave. Instead he places the sheet music back in the pile and picks up what looks like a collection of pages, all for the same song.

"Perhaps you aren't. But I am not against having a civil conversation with you." His eyes skim the pages and he tucks them under his arm. "I will bring these back later." He hasn't touched the piano in the main hall in quite some time, since he started causing trouble really. But that is where he will head when he turns on his heel.

Looking over his shoulder, John speaks once more to Dave before exiting. "You know. It's really too formal to call me Egbert. You could just call me John if you wanted to or something."

Dave sits up, the sheets fluttering around him. It almost looks like his clothes are blending in with the sheets. Like they're literally part of him. He doesn't say anything when John says that. Only musing. He'd probably still call John by his last name. It's too casual. Too friendly to call John by his first.

He might slink after John later to see what he'll do with those sheet music though. Out of curiosity. That, and he can't really sulk in his room all day right?

John was pretty much gone in a heartbeat, going back to the main hall and into the little side room that held the piano in it. Music had been a side thing of John's for a long time and he even got pretty good at piano. He really hopes this kind of thing is like riding a bicycle.

For the first hour or so it's an awful disaster, but much like a storm it lightens up and the results are much more calm and beautiful. John wonders why he ever quit playing, and even more so why Dave even kept this many piano sheets.

Dave will creep into the room ever so slowly. He doesn't say anything, only watching and listening.

What a silly thing to wonder. What were you expecting Dave to have? Volcanoes and fires all over the place? Sure, that's part of him, but passion was such a beautiful thing that he wanted to surround himself in it. He just kind of watches from the doorway.

He suspected Dave would come after his sheet music eventually, but he hasn't taken notice to Dave standing in the doorway. He is way into reading the music. Sightreading was never one of his favorite things. It took so much concentration.

It was true. John really did think that Dave was all volcanoes and fires, he had a boiling hot temper. He stumbles over a few keys and stops, augh, too much concentration is also a bad thing. "Hmm, maybe if I start at the beginning of the fourth page I can make up for that..." Sorry Dave, you're going to have to say something.

"Do you need help learning that piece," Dave finally speaks up. He's still by the door though. He hadn't moved an inch since stepping in. He wanted to give John space, but he doesn't think it would be that bad if he maybe offered to help? He doesn't like John, but something like this, he was willing to ignore that bit of information.

"Learning it is good, but you're too stiff. It's okay to take your time."

John seems a little startled at first, deer in the headlights look that Dave even thought about helping. When did he even get there? But perhaps taking a little advice from someone who actually knows the piece wouldn't be so bad? He knows he's stiff. It's never conducive to learning.

"I haven't actually played in a long time," John pauses to jut scoot over on the bench. There was enough room for the both of them. "Sure, I could use some help."

Dave takes a seat next to him, running his fingers over the keys gently. "You shouldn't worry about messing up then. Mess ups happen and that's how you learn." He plays a few keys, warming up. "And it would do you no good if you get frustrated. You want to enjoy this."

John knows how to play, and he knows how it feels to be completely submersed in the music. It is just that he gets frustrated more than he needs to. Messing up in front of other gods is also kind of embarrassing.

"I do enjoy it, I just hate messing up."

He shrugs and plays his end of the keys, warming up his fingers again.

"Everyone does." Dave plays a few more keys before slowly transitioning into the song itself. He doesn't have to look at the sheet music, his eyes shut. He knows every song ever made off the top of his head. Every musician flows through him.

Dave always got super engrossed in his music playing. Just the same as when he was dancing.

John puts his hands in his lap and watches Dave, he is powered by the musicians of the mortal world no doubt. That was one of the biggest passions of their home, the fine arts. Music, dancing, drawing. It was all something that John imagined Dave held a strong passion for and for a moment he completely loses the reason as to why he fights with Dave all the time.

Why are they even at odds?

But it also comes with a heart filled with jealousy, something he never really got rid of when he looked at Dave. He doesn't understand how to be close with mortals, or to use them for a completely understandable benefit such as music. He only knows tricks, and natural disasters.

Dave doesn't even realize that John is jealous. He really should assume there's some petty feelings involved (gods are pretty petty) but doesn't.

He continues to play a little longer before finally finishing, letting his fingers linger on the piano keys. "Might have to cut this short. I just remembered I was requested to dance tonight."
