[It was a centuries old rivalry. As cliche as the entire werewolves versus vampires thing sounds, it's always been a thing. Marked lands and certain territories. John had heard stories as a pup about the rivaling clan, their clan leader mysterious as always. Disappearing for months on end, and coming out only when he absolutely had to.

As John grew he became more curious, venturing on the lines as young adult, and going as far as crossing them when he was almost mature. He wanted to take risks, as next in line to be the Alpha dog he needed to know the lines well. He wanted to know the territories.

It's the dead of winter now as John is exploring, sniffing out where the lines diverge and the territories divide. He's crossed into their ground with full knowledge that he is there. Usually as long as he isn't causing any trouble they don't bother him, but their seem to be a pair of watchful eyes on him tonight as he heads into a moonlit clearing.]

[It'll probably be a few months before John stalks back around. He goes home only to get scolded by his own father. How he had nearly brought shame upon himself and made the feud between the two species worse. John then took off away from his pack to heal, his rebellious streak was because he was young- it was a desire for dominance.

It was well into spring the next time John came roaming around the vampires territory. He's sniffing around for the same guy, not that he's hopeful that he'll find him. He remembers those words from the last time- about him not thinking as clearly as he should have. This time he wouldn't lose. He would trump the other because he actually has somewhat of a battle plan.

[Dave has long since forgotten about John. Months was such a short time to him, but he didn't really think much of their meeting. It didn't leave much of an impact on him as it probably had with John.

He was actually just wandering around. Once in awhile he liked to just stretch his legs and walk around to pass time. He liked to keep himself busy, but it was one of those rare nights he just mulled in his thoughts.

Dave didn't do it often. He wasn't a friendly face for hunters and vampires weren't well liked in general. But he wandered still, stuck in his thoughts.]

[When he finally spotted that familiar scent it was a better situation for him than he thought. It seemed that the other was lost in his thoughts? He thought vampires didn't mull like that. Hah. Better for him. He could get the upper hand if he pounced while the other wasn't paying attention.

He doesn't waste time.

He plows into Dave, completely blindsiding him.]

[On the upside, vampires can't get the wind knocked out of them on the account that they don't breath. That's convenient, but doesn't help him much when all of John's wait comes straight at him.

He lets out a yelp that quickly becomes a low growl.] What the hell?!

[longwinded]

[John is using his weight to his advantage. He's pretty ferocious now that he kind of has the upper hand here. He knows his strength can trump the other's now that he actually has him pinned down- his claws dig into shoulders and his teeth are bared.

Hello Dave, hi Dave!!!!!]

[Dave is struggling, trying to kick the other off him. He was strong, yes. Being a vampire gifted him inhuman feats, but he wasn't built for strength. He used his speed more so as an advantage.

He ignores the pain shooting through his shoulders, glaring at John.] Get off me!

[Ha. Kick away. John isn't letting the deter his paws from gripping harder. His teeth still dangerously close to Dave's throat. He has the upper hand here and he could throw this bullshit vampire around by his neck if he wanted to. He might do that if Dave doesn't surrender.

John was getting some kind of power trip from this as well. A young wolf being able to hold down the leader of a clan.]

[God, that would be humiliating. Letting something or someone else prey on his throat. But he honestly doesn't care. This brat with his damn pride going as far as playing underhanded tricks to get the upper hand.]

[But he will if he's given the chance to. Hahahaha, mostly he's having fun watching the other squirm and complain under him. It was empowering and as much as he wanted to laugh he remembers he has to keep the other down.

Don't ever fuck with a werewolf. Ever. John lifts one paw, swiping it across the other's ribs. Ha. HA. Remembering doing that to someone, Dave? That was his revenge.]

[It was your fucking fault in the first place, you asshole. John picked a fight with him. He was minding his own business.

He tilts his head a bit.] You gonna break my ribs? Give me the same injuries I gave you? You ain't nothing but a brat with too much pride. [He's sure John isn't even aware the problems that can arise for attacking him amongst the rest of the two clans.]

[Stop trying to sound so wise Dave. Stop being so old. Stop being so calm about this. It's really annoying. His impact ended up not being as hard as it should have been. It could have broken all of his ribs, with that maybe one or two.

He hates hearing "too much pride", of course he has pride.

John ends up not being able to focus. He steps away, morphing back to his normal form.]

Stop fucking talking down to me. It's called getting even.

Getting even. You deliberately started a territorial dispute with me. You do know that goes against the treaty that I have with your clan, right? Territory is only disputed during meetings, and I've been more than generous with keeping our sections as even as possible.

You're mad because I beat the shit out of you because I didn't want to play your game. [Dave's pain tolerance was pretty high. Dave didn't seem all that hurt. Even with broken ribs.] You should have known what you were getting yourself into.

Don't tell me what to do. [There was no way in hell he was gonna take orders from a brat. Even if he had the upper hand.]

[But John knew the story behind this particular piece of land. John knew that his own father had lost, and that wasn't something he wanted to think about. Dad never loses fights. Dad couldn't lose a fight against this scumbag. All his life he was told they lived along the territory, and they didn't socialize with the vampire until meetings.

John's fault or not, his ultimate goal had been winning that land back from Dave for the sake of his Father.]

I wasn't playing any games, I was being completely serious. There was no game to that. I was intent on killing it. [He did know what he was getting into, that was the funny thing.]

If it wouldn't cause any more trouble than I've already caused, I would kill you right here. [He raises his fists, pretty much just to wail on Dave. This is about the only time Dave would have time to get away since this idiot just freed his shoulders.]

[Dave wastes no time to sit up and slam his forehead against John's. He would take whatever injuries necessary if it meant getting free. There was nothing he wasn't probably willing to give up to stay on top. It's why he's been leader for so long. Why no one dared to usurp him since he took down the last leader.]

If you wanted to kill me, you didn't take the time to figure out how. [He aims a punch at John's side, intent on getting John off him.]

And wailing on me doesn't really give you any favors.

[Woop. That sure was his head, and it's enough to deflect him. He's getting off of Dave now and holding his head. He may have a thick skull but he wasn't fucking prepared for that what the fuck.]

It would cause a bigger rift than I'm already causing, ha. Like any of us need that. [The punch to his side didn't really hurt, it was just annoying. It was annoying and not necessary. Fuck you Dave.]

Makes me feel better, beating your ugly mug. [Okay...so...his mug wasn't actually ugly. Dave was actually rather attractive. Ah, fuck. Shut up John no.]

[Dave actually kind of just flops back on the ground. God, this kid is so dumb. Killing him would make it worse, but beating the shit out of him makes it worse too. Just not as bad as if John killed him.]

Fine. Beat the shit out of me. [If it means John will leave him the fuck alone, god he will take getting the shit beaten out of him and not have John stalk him.]

It's not any fun when you're like that. [Saying it like that sounds kind of weird. Err, wow. That was fucking awkward. John is going to get up after a long moment of pondering what the fuck he just said. Wow, wow, wowowowowow. That was stupid.

[Yeah bye. Dave isn't gonna see John around here until he thinks about what the fuck he just said. Oh no, ooooooh no. He finds the vampire attractive and that is just downright weird.

O...kay. Dave just gingerly gets to his feet. Ow. Fucking broken shit is the worst. Dave is just...gonna go with his business? Like, okay. Kid is weird and maybe John won't bother him anymore.

[John ran all the way home to the Den, hoping he wouldn't have to face any consequences when he was all said and done with this. Yeah. He....was stupid that was stupid. Definitely not his shining moment or anything.

[Dave decides not to make a big fuss and bring this up. Seeing as how quickly John fled, he assumes that the other has learned.

He isn't quite sure why John fled so suddenly, but at least he can relax now.]

[John had to think himself what he meant about it. He wanted to know what "fun" meant. He had to run back through the scenario several times. What had been "fun" about it? It wasn't the initial attack at all that had been out of ferocity. He had been intent on bringing Dave down at that point.

What had been "fun" was holding Dave down and knowing he couldn't get away. He was attractive too. So. That didn't help the fact that him squirming got a million times better to watch.

Fuck.

He was attracted to an older Clan Leader. Not even of his own species. Augh. He would really have to make sure of that though. He would have to plan it well.

On a night in early summer, John takes to the trees. He was intent to find the other on the ground, and spring down from the trees. For this special occasion he wouldn't even go forward with claws.

Sorry Dave, were you hoping he would leave you alone????]

[Dave had already started wearing t-shirts, even if it's still early in Summer. He liked Summer evenings. They were nice and cool, and the sun has been a grievance with Summer heating.

He didn't mind the heat, but things just felt so much brighter and made his head hurt and he avoided windows and anything else he can as much as possible.

But it was nice in the evening. He can walk and enjoy himself in the cool air.

Which is why he's taking a quick walk through the park, enjoying the nice temperature.]

[There he was. There was Dave! His favorite vampire to fuck with. He's grinning wide. Stalking him for only a few more moments before launching himself from a branch in a nearby tree.

He was hoping they would topple over to where he could pin him down again. There was no ferocity this time, no intent to kill.

[And down Dave goes. He thought this was over and done with. No more stupid werewolves harassing him and tackling him to the ground. He squirms a bit, trying to shove John off him.] What do you want now?!

[He has Dave right where he wants him. He's squirming and everything. John's strength is likely no match for Dave though. In fact he's actually laughing, because this was probably his fucked up idea of fun.

He shrugs.]
